Cookie policy
lumHUB uses very few cookies and local storage entries, almost all of them so the site works and remembers your choices. We use no advertising cookies, and measurement (our own and Google Analytics) only starts if you allow it.
In short
- The essentials, no pop-upsSession, language and theme: the minimum for the site to work and remember what you chose.
- Measurement, with your permissionIt starts only if you accept, and you change it any time from «Measurement preferences».
- No advertising trackingGoogle Analytics only with your permission; no advertising tags and no social media pixels.
What they are and why we use them
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Local and session storage do a similar job without travelling to the server on every request. In this document we call all of them “cookies”.
- Necessary: they enable the session, security and access to your account. They do not need your permission.
- Preference and function: they remember your language, theme, progress and settings.
- Measurement: only with your permission.
What we store
| Name | Type | What it is for | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| lumhub_session | Cookie · necessary | Keeps your technical session, protects forms against forged requests and holds your measurement choice while you browse. | Until you close the browser; it expires after 30 minutes of inactivity and after 12 hours at most. |
| lumhub_locale | Cookie · preference | Remembers your language (Spanish, English or German). | 1 year |
| lumhub_theme | Local storage · preference | Remembers whether you prefer the light or dark theme. | Until you delete it |
| lumhub.measurement.2026-11-04 | Local storage · preference | Stores whether you allow measurement (our own and Google Analytics) and, if you do, the Monday of the week in which you did. | Until you delete it or change your choice |
| lumhub.maps | Local storage · preference | Remembers that you allowed Google Maps maps to load. Deleted when you press «Stop using Google Maps». | Until you delete it or change your choice |
| NID and other Google cookies | Third-party cookie · maps (Google Maps) | Set by Google on its own domain when you load a Google map; lumHUB does not read them. They only exist if you load the map. | As set by Google’s policy (NID: 6 months) |
| lumhub.measure.via | Session storage · measurement | With measurement on, keeps in the tab, only until the next page, which list led you to a listing. | Until the next page |

| lumhub_… (games, courses and tools) | Local storage · function | Keep your progress, records and preferences on your device and, if you turn on “Save notes”, a course’s notes. When signed in, progress (never notes) syncs to your account. | Until you delete them |
| __session, __client_uat and similar (Clerk) | Cookie · necessary | Keep you signed in when you use your account. They are managed by Clerk, our sign-in provider. | Set by Clerk; invalidated when you sign out |
Your choice about measurement
Measurement starts only after you allow it. You can change your choice at any time from «Measurement preferences» in the footer. Turning it off deletes the events tied to the current session and stops new ones from being sent; we also stop loading Google Analytics and delete its cookies (_ga).
Exactly what we measure, for how long and within which limits is in the Privacy.
How to delete or block cookies
You can delete or block them in your browser’s privacy settings. Keep in mind that:
- If you block lumhub_session you will not be able to sign in or submit forms.
- If you clear the site’s storage you will lose the progress, records and preferences saved on that device. If you have an account, you recover what was synced.
- Course notes exist only in your browser: if you delete them they cannot be recovered.
What we do not use
- Ad personalisation, remarketing or Google signals: all are turned off in Google Analytics.
- Third-party advertising, tracking pixels or social buttons that track you.
- External fonts or scripts on public pages: typefaces are hosted on lumHUB, and Google maps only load when you ask for them.
