The Quintana Roo government announced on October 18, 2026 a list of 21 new winter flight routes: 14 to Cancún and 7 to Tulum, starting between October 2026 and January 2027. Canada accounts for most of them. These are government announcements, not confirmations from the airlines, and dates may change.

The count includes each airline separately: Montreal-Tulum appears twice, with Air Transat and with Air Canada.

Tulum: 7 operations and 10 weekly flights

  • Montreal: Air Transat from October 25; Air Canada from October 29.
  • Toronto: Air Canada from October 25; WestJet from October 31.
  • Quebec: from October 25.
  • Calgary: from October 29.
  • Newark: from December 17.

The source does not specify the airline for Calgary, Quebec and Newark.

Cancún: 14 operations and 35 weekly flights

  • Canada: Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, Fredericton, Halifax and Windsor. The sources give different dates for Calgary-Cancún with Air Canada (November 11 or December 11).
  • United States: Tampa, Pittsburgh and Richmond, with Breeze.
  • Europe: Paris with Air France (from October 13) and Verona with Neos (from December 22).

The announcement also mentions two domestic routes: Acapulco-Cancún with Viva Aerobus from November 3 (two weekly frequencies; it may be a resumption) and Los Cabos-Cancún with Volaris from December 1.

The source report speaks of 44 weekly flights in its text, but the sum of its table gives 45.

What else is in the air travel picture?

Andrés Martínez, head of the Consejo de Promoción Turística (Tourism Promotion Council), noted that Air France, Condor, British Airways, TUI and Air Europa are increasing operations in winter, and acknowledged that it will be hard to recover earlier levels because of the exit of Spirit Airlines.

At Tulum, Aeroméxico suspended its flights on September 30, according to El Financiero, and Volaris will stop operating from January 7, 2027. Neos will also connect Milan with Cozumel from December 24, 2026.
